How To Grow
Sow Calabrese Samson F1 Broccoli seeds 5mm (1/4in) deep in a seed tray or directly into a prepared garden bed with fertile, well-drained soil. Lightly cover the seeds with fine soil and gently firm down. Water thoroughly after sowing to ensure the seeds are settled in. Broccoli seedlings usually appear within 7–14 days.
When they get large enough to handle, transplant them to their final growing position, spacing the plants 60cm (24in) apart to allow room for their large heads to develop. Choose a sunny spot for the best results, and keep the soil moist throughout the growing period. Apply a general-purpose fertiliser or organic feed during the growing season to support healthy growth. Harvest the main broccoli heads 12-16 weeks after sowing, when the heads are tight and fully formed. After the main head is harvested, the plant will continue to produce side shoots for extended cropping.
