White Button Mushroom Kit (Bunnings exclusive)
Unavailable to purchase online – available seasonally through select Bunnings stores.
With Mr Fothergill’s White Button Mushroom kits, you can grow delicious, nutritious mushrooms in your very own home! By following three easy steps, you can harvest and enjoy fresh button mushrooms in as little as 3-5 weeks.
These kits are available at select Bunnings Stores and include everything you need to get started. Unfortunately, we can’t ship our White Button Mushroom kits due to their size and weight. As these mushroom kits are a seasonal item, please contact your local store to check availability.
Please note: Mushrooms are live products and the kits may be supplied at slightly different stages of maturity. If your kit is not completely frosty white with mycelium, keep it warm for a few days to fully inoculate before starting the growing process.
For more tasty options, try our all-in-one grow kits or our mason jar grow kits, both available online. Alternatively, browse our complete range of vegetable seeds and herb seeds and start your own kitchen garden!
How To Grow
Keep your button mushroom kit out of direct sunlight: a wardrobe, garage or laundry is a good spot. To get growing, follow these 3 easy steps: 1. Open the box. If the compost looks brown, close the kit and leave it for a week. Once the compost is frosty white, continue to Step 2. 2. Open the plastic and evenly spread the casing over the compost, leaving it loose and fluffy. Leave the kit open. 3. Mist with water every 2-3 days. After two to three weeks, mushrooms will begin to form. Twist each mushroom out, removing any remaining stump, and fill in holes with surrounding peat moss.
