Super Hot Chilli Bhut Jolokia Chocolate (Ghost)
Originally grown in Northeast India, Bhut Jolokia seeds are part of the super hot chilli family. This popular variety, the Chocolate Bhut Jolokia (Ghost) chilli, is known for its deeply wrinkled fruits that grow on compact, upright plants, maturing from green to a rich chocolate brown.
Also known as the Ghost Chilli or Ghost Pepper, this super-hot chilli isn’t for the faint-hearted, with a heat level of 900,000 SHU (Scoville units). Its notorious slow burn kicks in after 30 seconds and lingers for up to 30 minutes. The smoky undertones and slightly milder heat compared to the red Bhut Jolokia make it perfect for daring-but-delicious hot sauces, spicy chutneys or fiery curries.
WARNING! These chillies are extremely hot and should be handled with care. Do not consume whole. You should wear gloves when handling either the seeds or fruits, avoid contact with eyes and sensitive areas, and thoroughly wash hands after handling. Keep away from children and pets. These chillies should be avoided if you are pregnant, have asthma, a heart condition, skin allergies, or digestive sensitivities.

How To Grow
Sow your Chocolate Bhut Jolokia seeds 5mm (¼ in) deep in seed trays or punnets using seed raising mix, or sow directly into their final growing position. Providing consistent heat will improve the germination rate and speed. Transplant seedlings when they reach 7-10cm (3-4 in) in height, spacing them 40cm (16 in) apart. Keep the plants well-watered but avoid overwatering, and feed occasionally with liquid fertiliser. This variety is also ideal for growing in pots. Seedlings will emerge in 7-21 days. Caution: Can irritate skin and eyes.
