Gazania Sunshine Hybrids are among the most beautiful plants you can grow, and now you can grow your own with Mr Fothergill’s Gazania seeds. They grow a mixture of large, daisy-like flowers in a superb range of colours and bicolours that can brighten up any flower garden: electric yellows and fiery reds. Their silvery-green foliage complements the flowers and adds interest even when they aren’t in bloom.
These low-growing perennials reach a height of 25cm, making them an excellent height for low-growing garden beds and containers. These plants are perfect for hot, dry conditions, as they are drought-tolerant and thrive in well-drained soil. With their low maintenance needs, they do well even in coastal gardens or areas with intense sunlight.

How To Grow
How to Grow
Sow Gazania seeds 5mm (¼in) deep in seed trays or boxes, ideally using seed-raising mix or compost. Keep the soil moist during germination. Once the seedlings reach 5cm (2in), transplant them to their flowering position, spacing them 25cm (10in) apart. After flowering, remove dead blooms to encourage more flower growth. Apply mulch around the base in hot weather to retain moisture and keep the roots cool.
