Australian Yellow Leaf Lettuce Heirloom

Frequently Bought Together
Product Description
Australian Yellow Leaf lettuce is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to grow a crop of tasty salad leaves that can be harvested several times. This non-hearting lettuce variety produces open rosettes of bright yellow-green leaves, which create a beautiful contrast with darker green and red varieties. With a slightly crinkled texture and a mild, sweet flavour, the tender leaves are delicious in salads, wraps and sandwiches and are a good source of Vitamin A and C.
These heirloom vegetable seeds are slow to bolt and have excellent heat tolerance—perfect for Australian gardens. Australian Yellow Leaf lettuce grows well in full sun or shade with well-draining soil. The leaves can be picked individually as needed: harvest when young and tender or let them mature for a more robust flavour and texture.

Sow Australian Yellow Leaf lettuce seeds in small clumps, 5mm (1/4in) deep, and cover with a fine layer of seed-raising mix or soil. Space the clumps about 20cm (8in) apart. Water them gently to settle them in, and moisten the soil as they grow. Lettuce seedlings should emerge within 6–10 days. Feed the plants with a liquid fertiliser every 10-14 days and water frequently, as lettuce has shallow roots.
You can harvest the leaves from 7 weeks, if you want to continually harvest lots of lettuce, sow more lettuce seeds every fortnight.
