Lilium Apricot Fudge (season: Winter)
These unique blooms resemble budding roses and make a bold statement in your garden! Each stem average 4-8 blooms with numbers increasing each year. Excellent for cut flowers.
This unusual perennial looks more like a rose than a lily! The brown-tipped stamens are the most obvious lily characteristic, standing tall above the soft apricot petals of the double flower heads. Long, narrow, deep green leaves frame the stems. While this lily prefers well-drained soil, it will tolerate heavier soils whether acidic, clay, loamy, or sandy. Keep your Lilies moist while in growth and fertilise at the start of the season and again as the flowers are finishing.
How To Grow
Plant 15cm deep and 20-25cm apart in full sun or part shade.
Prepare well drained soil by adding plenty of compost and organic material. Apply a little blood and bone fertiliser as growth starts and again after flowering. Water well after planting. Liliums are wonderful long lasting cut flowers. Cut them when flowers are just open and keep some leaves on the lower stem.
