Burgundy Ranunculus F1 Bulbs

Frequently Bought Together
Product Description
Burgundy Ranunculus F1 is a truly luxurious choice, with full, double flowers that maintain their double form throughout the entire life of the corm – unlike other varieties that may lose their double petals over time. This plant creates a gorgeous focal point in your garden, reaching around 40-60cm (16-24 in) tall.
The stunning red wine hues of this variety of Ranunculus bulbs are at home in either modern or cottage-style gardens, with depth of colour and understated sophistication. Its rich, velvety, densely-layered flowers are quite simply stunning in a vase, and given that this variety doesn’t lose its double blooms, they’ll impress you for years to come with the right care. For the best results, plant your Burgundy Ranunculus in a sunny, well-drained spot.
For a bright and varied spring garden, pair ranunculus with our tulip bulbs and daffodil bulbs. Explore Mr Fothergill’s complete range of flower bulbs for even more beautiful spring-flowering blooms.

Burgundy Ranunculus F1 does best in full sun and well-drained soil. The ideal planting time is late summer, autumn, or early winter for flowers next year.
Soak the bulbs in a bowl of water for one hour before planting. Plant the bulbs claws-down, 5-15cm (2-6 in) apart, with the corm two times its own height beneath the soil. Plant them somewhere that gets afternoon shade to protect them from the summer sun if you live in a hot area, but otherwise, make sure they get six hours of full sun a day for best results. They are suitable either for direct planting or growing in pots/containers.
Regular watering is essential for seedlings and young plants, so keep the top 10cm (4 in) of soil moist but not waterlogged during the initial growing phase. Once established, water them consistently for best results.
For prolonged flowering from winter through summer, apply liquid fertiliser every two weeks after the plants start blooming. For cut flowers, harvest when the buds show colour, but aren’t open yet. You can lift and store Ranunculus corms, or leave them where they are in the soil to bloom again next year. For more information, see our guide to spring flowering bulbs.
