Orange Ranunculus F1 thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Plant them in late summer, as autumn planting bulbs, or in early winter for blooms the following year.
Soak the bulbs in water for up to one hour before planting. Ensure the “claws” face down when placing the corm in the soil. Plant the bulbs 5-15cm (2-6 in) apart, with the corm positioned twice its own height beneath the soil surface, either in the ground or in a pot/container. If you live in a particularly hot area, provide some afternoon shade to protect them from the intense summer sun, but otherwise, aim for six hours of full sun each day for the best results.
During the early growth stages, keep the top 10cm (4 in) of soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Once the plants are established, water them regularly for consistent growth.
For long-lasting blooms in winter and spring, feed with liquid fertiliser every two weeks once the plants start flowering. For cut flowers, harvest when the buds have developed their colour but before they fully open. You can either lift and store the corms for replanting, or leave them in place to bloom again next year.
