Yellow Ranunculus F1 thrives in well-drained soil and a sunny spot. Plant them in late summer, as autumn planting bulbs, or early winter for flowers the following year.
Soak the bulbs in water for up to an hour before planting. Make sure the claws face downward when planted, and have them 5-15cm (2-6 in) apart, positioning the corm twice its own height below the soil surface. Plant either directly in the ground or in a pot/container. If you're in a particularly warm climate, opt for a spot with afternoon shade to protect from intense summer heat. In other regions, select a location that receives six hours of full sun each day.
During the initial growth phase, keep the top 10cm (4 in) of soil moist but not overly wet. Once the plants are well established, continue regular watering to support healthy growth.
To enjoy blooms from winter through to spring, feed with liquid fertiliser every two weeks once flowering begins. For the best cut flowers, harvest when the buds show their colour but before they fully open. You can either lift and store the bulbs for replanting next season or leave them in the ground for next year’s blooms.
