Blackjack zucchinis are a prolific and famed variety of zucchini known for their glossy, very dark green fruit. Now you can grow your own with Mr Fothergill’s! These classic zucchini seeds are easy to grow, making them a popular choice for both beginner and experienced gardeners. The compact plants mature early and are extremely productive.
Choose a sunny spot, keep well-watered, and feed your plants regularly, and you’ll be enjoying delicious Blackjack zucchinis in just 6-8 weeks. Whether you’re grilling them, frying them, tossing them in a salad, or adding them to quiches, their flavour and texture are truly unmatched.

How To Grow
Sow your Blackjack zucchini seeds 12mm (1/2") deep, directly in their intended final position. Sow three or four seeds in a clump, later thinning them out to the two strongest seedlings. Prepare the soil well by adding organic material and a complete fertiliser. Allow 100 cm (3’) between rows and space plants 90 cm (3’) apart – they need plenty of space. Keep your zucchinis well-watered as they grow, and harvest regularly when about 15 cm (6”) long to encourage higher yields.

Refunds
All goods we sell must be of acceptable quality and fit for the purpose they are sold for. If your seeds or bulbs do not grow for whatever reason we will happily provide you with a replacement. For all other products, please contact our head office through our contact us page. Please note we are not required to give refunds for change of mind or under any other circumstances.

Important Note
These seeds may be treated with a fungicide (Thiram or Apron XL), do not eat the seeds or feed them to animals.
Fungicide treatment is an AQIS requirement for certain varieties of seeds. It does not affect your crops or harm insects such as bees.
If your packet has been treated it will be well marked with a warning and the seeds will be dyed a distinct colour.
