How To Grow

Sow directly and thin out. Pick the leaves as required throughout the year. If they are to be dried, gather them just before the flowers begin to open. In cooler climates, start plants in pots. Sow very thinly, 5mm (0.25 in) deep, in a coco fibre pot filled with coco fibre pellets. Harden off and plant out from October to December. Thyme seeds like a warm, sunny position and well-drained soil.

How Long Does Thyme Take to Grow From Seed?

Thyme seeds are quick and easy-to-grow herb seeds, germinating in just a couple of weeks and taking around 70-90 days to grow from seed to being able to harvest the leaves of the plant. Full maturity may take up to 120 days, depending on the growing conditions.

When Is the Best Time to Sow Thyme Seeds?

Our thyme herb seeds produce perennial plants that can grow year-round. The best time to sow thyme seeds is spring or summer in a warm, sunny position. Thyme seeds can be started indoors before being sown outside in cooler climates or directly into the garden in warmer regions.
